I use fashion blogs as a huge source of inspiration for what to thrift for and how to put it together. Sometimes I even see an outfit I want to copy down to the last details. When I saw this great combo on J's Everyday Fashion, I knew I not only needed an asymmetrical zipper skirt, but also wanted to put something really similar together. My version may be a serious 80's throwback with the brown color of the leopard print, but hey I like the 80s!
To put together this look, I searched for a similar skirt (secondhand) on Poshmark and eBay. It would be a long shot to find something that specific at the thrift store quickly. The leopard shirt on the other hand was a pretty quick find, with three trips to different Goodwill locations in Baltimore. Rather than purchase another pair of shoes, I opted for these Cole Haan peep toes thrifted last year. I'm kicking myself because I used to have a red crossbody bag, but I sold it on eBay! I added this Steve Madden bag I've had forever, which seems to match just about everything in my closet. Maybe I'll keep my eye out for a bag with a pop of color to freshen up my version of the look!
